First Steps

So, what's happening now and what's coming up?

Well, we've been cleared to proceed by the Viking Society Konungr, and been in discussion with the Society Secretary.

Obviously, the group website has been created and is going to be a work in progress. Hoping to add a lot more photographs and blog posts as time goes on. We may be adding a members area for group members, so they can read our internal information.

I'm working on a constitution, which will be based on previous constitutions I've written, and examples of more modern versions from other groups.

The constitution will define our group: it's identity, rules, roles, aspirations, etc., and how we fit into the national Viking Society.

Something I want to add to the constitution is the idea of 'Associate' members: Draum has a long history from 1994 onwards, and there are a lot of people who were once members but have since moved on. Some of them might like to be Associate members of the group without having to rejoin the Society, just so they can keep in touch.

I'm also writing a database to store member information - not that much to store frankly, but it's one of my specialties so it's an easy win.
